Australian Chamber Orchestra
The Australian Chamber Orchestra confirms its reputation for flexibility and exciting programming with three diverse concerts, performed with the energy and panache for which it is renowned.
Barefoot Fiddler
Tuesday 13 July, 8pm
Patricia Kopatchinskaja is captivating: free-spirited, imaginative, shoe-less. A perfect guest director for the ACO. She performs folk dances from her homeland and three violin concertos, including a rarity by Haydn and Vivaldi’s The Storm at Sea.
Viennese Masters
Tuesday 28 September, 8pm
ACO Principals perform Schubert’s highly virtuosic Rondo Brilliante, Brahms’ supreme achievement in chamber music, the Clarinet Quintet, and Beethoven’s Septet, which was more popular in his lifetime than his symphonies.
Kruetzer Sonata
Tuesday 16 November, 8pm
The ACO premieres a dramatic treatment of Tolstoy, Beethoven and Janáček’s Kreutzer Sonatas featuring British actor Samuel West.
