The Firm

Langbein String Quartet

The Firm promotes the performance of new solo and chamber works, particularly those of South Australian composers, and also provides a performance platform for some of Australia’s finest musicians. In 2010 the Firm celbrates the 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin’s birth with concerts that include a rare performance of his complete Etudes for piano and many other much loved works

Hugo Wolf – The Italian Songbook

Friday 2 July, 7.30pm

Tenor Robert Macfarlane, soprano Rosalind Martin and pianist Anthony Legge perform one of the masterpieces of the song repertoire, rarely heard in its entirety. This cycle of 46 songs, by turn playful, tragic and humourous, was described by Wolf as “the most original and artistically perfect” of all his lieder.
