Seraphim Trio
Founded in 1994, Seraphim Trio comprises pianist Anna Goldsworthy, violinist Helen Ayres, and cellist Timothy Nankervis. The trio is celebrated for its vitality, rapport and innovative programming. Since winning the prize for Leading Piano Trio and the Audience Choice Award in the 2001 Australian National Chamber Music Competition, Seraphim Trio has performed internationally and throughout Australia. It appears regularly for Musica Viva, is frequently broadcast on ABC Classic FM, and is a regular guest at Australian music festivals.

This recital celebrates the two hundredth anniversary of Robert Schumann, by locating his first piano trio in the rich musical tradition of Haydn and Brahms. Here Haydn explores a rare minor key, paving the way for the dark romantic imaginings of Schumann and Brahms.

In their final concert, the trio is joined by soprano Lisa Harper-Brown to celebrate the glorious combination of piano trio and soprano. The trio will also unveil a new, special collaboration by composer Graeme Koehne and poet Peter Goldsworthy: The Ringtone Cycle.
